About Us

The Wollongong Combined Churches Education Board exists as the representative organisation to provide special religious education in our local high schools for all students who wish to participate in (SRE) under the oversight of the approved SRE provider Churches of the Wollongong area.

SRE has been part of NSW schooling since 1849. The current NSW Education Act requires that time be allocated for religious education in all government schools. Our team of SRE teachers aim to teach the main messages of the Bible via approved curriculum to students in classes organised and timetabled within the schools. Teachers are also involved in serving the school community needs where opportunities arise.

We support SRE teachers in the following schools:
